HEALTH
:

NJ has NO western clinics or health care as of yet. Bring the health care items which you use most often at home:  Cold medicine (e.g. Benadryl, both adults & children's), Antibiotics (though some can be purchased in NJ) for both adults and children (e.g. powdered suspensions like Augmentin, Amoxycillen, Cipro, Ceclor or Septra), Tylenol, and stomach/constipation medicine, Neosporin (antibiotic cream), for children - anti-vomiting suppositories.  Note:  Some drugs which would be obtainable only by prescription in America are available over-the-counter in some stores in NJ and even more available in Shanghai.  A multi-vitamin is most helpful (not the mega-vitamin mineral type as many have found that to upset their system). Prenatal vitamins are only available at the World Link clinic in Shanghai.  If you are pregnant or trying you should bring your own.  It might be beneficial to bring in a small First Aid Kit.  The main thing is you want to bring a good supply of medicine for colds and sinus agitation such a Sudafed, Actifed, etc.  Buy the cheap generic brands whenever possible.  (ex: Sudafed is Pseuodoephidrine HCL).  Comtrex is available in Nanjing.
